Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

What does this cost? It’s free. Unlike other services that charge or take a proportion of your clicks, all I do is take the clicks with no Affiliate ID and for countries without an Affiliate program.

What is Amazon Associates/Affiliates: 12 region specific affiliate programs, where you generate product links and make commission from sales that your links generate. Useful for your blog, YouTube Channel etc.

Do I need to join all 12 programs? Yes. You’ll get a tracking ID to be used specifically for each region. However, depending on your country or website, you might not be able to join them all.

Why can't I join all 12? China seems to reject YouTube applications, and some require you to have a bank account in their country.

Why Geo-target links? You could put 12 links in your YouTube description box, or just one link that directs users to the right Amazon store.

Why is this site so basic? For now, this site is mainly for me to generate links for my YouTube channel.

I have found a problem / I need help / I have a suggestion / Can I contact you? Visit my YouTube channel, subscribe, send me a message and I’ll do my best to get back to you.

I want to generate my own links using your site. How does you link structure work?

A example link to my geo targeter looks like this:
http://www.am-redirect.com/link.php?usid=XXXXXXX&gbid=XXXXXXX&usasin= XXXXXXX&gbasin=XXXXXXX&keywords=interesting%20things

Where usid and gbid tell me that you're going to specify the Affiliate IDs from the US and GB stores, and where XXXXXXX are the actual IDs (they look a bit like bobhosks-21).

Where usasin and gbasin tell me that you're going to specify the ASIN codes for products in the US and GB stores (they look a bit like B0038283YVC).

And where keywords tells me that you are going to provide search terms that Amazon will use if you didn’t specify an ASIN for a given country (put%20spaces%20in%20like%20this).

You can specify as many Affiliate IDs as you want. The total list is: usid, gbid, caid, deid, itid, esid, frid, jpid, cnid, inid, brid, mxid

And as many ASIN codes as you want. The total list is: usasin, gbasin, caasin, deasin, itasin, esasin, frasin, jpasin, cnasin, inasin, brasin, mxasin

Blurb

I’m a new YouTuber who reviews smartwatches and other gadgets. I link to the products in the description box for my viewers to visit, and to hopefully make a purchase. By joining the Amazon Affiliates program, I was able to earn a small amount of commission (paid in Amazon gift cards) from those purchases.

The problem is that there are separate Amazon Affiliate sites for several different regional Amazon stores - 12 in total. So if I send someone to Amazon.com but then they buy from Amazon.co.uk, I will not get my referral fee. One way around this is to have a link for each of the stores with an affiliate program. The alternative is to automatically redirect your visitor to the right store based on their geographical location.

Services like this already exist but they either charge based on the number of link clicks, or they take a proportion of the clicks and add their own affiliate ID to them. My service is completely free. However, I do take the clicks that you do not specify an Affiliate ID for and for countries that do not have an Affiliate program.

I hope this is of some use to you. Good luck!
